Responsibilities

  • Provide ABA Special Instruction to children in the Early Intervention Program in accordance with the child’s IFSP. 

  • Conducts ongoing assessment of the child's developmental progress and adjusts intervention strategies as appropriate.

  • Utilizes evidence-based ABA principles, including:

    • Positive reinforcement

    • Prompting and fading

    • Task analysis

    • Functional communication training

    • Behavior reduction strategies

    • Natural Environment Teaching (NET)

    • Incidental teaching

  • Coaches parents and caregivers on strategies that promote skill development during daily routines.

  • Participates in IFSP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and case conferences. 

  • Collaborates and coordinates care with other members of the Early Intervention team including therapists, medical professionals, and educators. 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Early Childhood, Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field is required, Masters degree is preferred. 

  • Certification or eligibility to provide Special Instruction through the New York State Early Intervention Program.

  • Special instruction services in the Early Intervention Program must be provided by qualified individuals possessing one of the following teacher certifications issued by the State Education Department:   

    • Special Education Teacher 

    • Teacher of Students with Disabilities birth to grade 2 

    • Teacher of the Blind and Visually Impaired 

    • Teacher of the Deaf and Hearing Impaired 

    • Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) 

    • Teacher of Students with Speech and language disabilities (TSSLD)

  • BCBA or BCaBA certification is preferred. 


Posted Salary Range

USD $70.00 - USD $75.00 /Hr.
