The student nurse extern will work directly with a trained RN preceptor to gain clinical experience and competence in a hospital setting. They will participate in supplementary educational sessions and provide patient care during one 12-hour shift per week.
Qualifications
You are currently enrolled in an accredited Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing program with an expected graduation date through August 2027. You possess an active BLS certification and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. You are available to work one 12-hour shift per week from February 2027 until graduation.

About the Extern Program
Orlando Health’s Accelerated Senior Nurse Extern (ASNE) Program is a special program beginning on February 7th, 2027 – until graduation, one day a week, with preference given to students who do not have the summer off during the nursing program. An externship in nursing at Orlando Health will give you experience engaging with an essential piece of the profession… patients! ASNE's have an opportunity to:
