Job Description

Position: Safety Coordinator
Reports to: Safety Manager
Location: Jeffersonville, Ohio
Pay Range: $32 - $45 per hour (Eligible for overtime)

We consider several factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates.

Superior is looking for a Construction Safety Coordinator to ensure that every team member on our job sites is safe and secure. The Safety Coordinator will maintain safe conditions for people and property, assist with investigating accidents, and support emergency response efforts. This role is based on a jobsite in Jeffersonville, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across the jobsite with Field Operations and Project Operations team members, as well as the general contractor and other trade partners
  • Assist with the collection of safety records following training sessions 
  • Document all injuries, incidents, and near misses
  • Sign daily paperwork to verify proper hazard and mitigation assessments
  • Monitor large construction sites and enforce compliance with government rules & regulations
  • Complete audits and daily reports describing activities completed, issues, etc.
  • Stay up-to-date with safety policies and trends, i.e. meeting the latest safety standards and establishing new ones from time-to-time as newer risks are discovered
  • Attend all safety meetings on the job sites

Your Expertise

  • Required: You have at least 1 year of safety experience in construction, OR 5 years of field/project experience on a commercial construction site, OR a degree in Occupational Health and Safety (or completed an apprenticeship program)
  • Required: You have a First Aid/CPR certification
  • Required: You have completed the OSHA 10-hour construction training course
  • Bonus Points: You have completed the OSHA 30-hour construction training course
  • Bonus Points: You have a safety credential through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (e.g., CHST) or are actively working toward certification
  • Bonus Points: You have Electrical Construction Experience
