Early Head Start Teacher – Infant & Toddler Classroom
1- & 2-Year-Olds

Build secure relationships and help young children reach important early milestones. UCCA is seeking caring Early Head Start Teachers to work with 1- and 2-year-old children in nurturing, individualized classrooms.

Starting Rate: Up to $18 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:30am-3:30pm (40 hours/week)

What You’ll Do
  • Provide nurturing care and supervision for infants and toddlers
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate classroom activities and routines
  • Develop secure, responsive relationships with children
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment
  • Observe and assess children’s developmental progress
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding children’s growth and daily activities
  • Conduct parent conferences and home visits as required
  • Collaborate with classroom staff and support specialists
  • Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing requirements
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Infant/Toddler CDA credential preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for early childhood education and family engagement
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to actively supervise infants and toddlers, frequently bend, kneel, sit on the floor, lift and carry children, and move throughout classroom and outdoor environments. Position requires occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
