Patient Service Representative

A Patient Service Representative needs to have strong organizational skills along with the ability to think on their feet when faced with new situations that arise throughout each day within a professional medical environment.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Patient intake, such as greet and check-in patients/verify/update patient demographics
  • Assist patients with filling out consent forms
  • Receive and process cash and credit card payments for medical services rendered
  • Initiate calls, pages and triage phone calls.
  • Assists in admissions, discharges, transfers and fulfills other customer service or clerical duties

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Professional manner and appearance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good time management and prioritization skills

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • College-level training/education in a healthcare support field preferred
  • Previous EMR use/training helpful
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of medical terms and practices preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • 80% standing 20% sitting

Location and Travel Requirements:

  • Onsite; 260 Tompkins St. Cortland
  • Shift; 7:00am - 5:00pm M-F

Pay Range Disclosure:

  • $18.50 to $23.00 per hour
