Job Description

The Data Analyst Level I is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to extract valuable insights and support decision-making across the Credit Union. This role involves managing product reporting, market share and rate data, and providing business intelligence to improve customer engagement and operational efficiency. 

Duties and Responsibilities Include:          

  • Prepare and review monthly reports for product managers, project managers as well business line owners. 
  • Track and measure performance metrics for the product and project teams, working to establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of business decisions and track performance.  
  • Create and interpret performance reports, metrics, and dashboards for product lines and teams as a measure of efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability. 
  • Margin maximization analysis – Optimizing our spreads by risk tiers and pricing. 
  • Product Analysis – Profitability and utilization tracking. 
  • Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support. 
  • Conduct market research in conjunction with the product managers and analyze financial trends and forecasts. 
  • Identify and drive process improvements by creating standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards. 
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts. 
  • Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization. 
  • Review the effectiveness of marketing campaigns for penetration and profitability measures. 
  • Evaluate products at all stages of the product life cycle. 
  • Provide support for users requiring assistance with data mining, report generation, and data analysis from a variety of data sources. This may include data from any and all loan origination systems, eBranch, remote deposit capture, and online account opening solutions, online and branch account opening solutions for Deposit and Consumer Loan products, and video banking and digital communication channels.  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process and product optimization.  
  • Departmental Ownership: Each Data Analyst will be assigned to own the analytics for a specific department, such as Digital Experience, Risk Management, Lending, Member Assistance, Operations, Branch Operations or Card Services. They will be responsible for providing tailored insights and reports to support the unique needs and goals of their assigned department. 

Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s degree required with a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, Finance, or Data Science preferred.  0 to 2 years of lending experience preferred. Excellent math skills and computer knowledge. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to always maintain the confidentiality of Credit Union and member records.

A demonstrated cooperative and positive attitude toward members and other Credit Union staff. Dedicated to serving our internal team members and holding team accountable for the Credit Union’s service standard. Be able to diagnose and solve complex problems. Professional appearance, and dependable with attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed. Must comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by ICCU.

Physical Requirements:  

  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.). 
  • Sit for extended periods of time. 
  • Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc. 
  • Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers. 
  • Reach keyboards. 
  • Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
