Verdantas is seeking a Staff Ecologist I to join our team in Fresno, California. We provide consulting services to public, private, and non‑profit clients in California and across the United States. Our team supports projects from early planning and design through construction and long‑term environmental monitoring. This role offers hands‑on learning opportunities while supporting real‑world projects from start to finish.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct field surveys and collect ecological data, including flora and fauna inventories, wetland delineations, soil and water sampling, habitat assessments, and environmental compliance monitoring
  • Prepare daily survey and monitoring reports and assist senior staff with environmental reports and technical documentation
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure field activities are completed safely and on schedule
  • Maintain field equipment and assist with database entry and management of ecological data

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of relevant work, internship, or academic field experience
  • Knowledge of local and federal environmental regulations is a plus
  • Ability to support environmental analysis and associated documentation
  • Familiarity with GIS tools and ecological data platforms
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills

Salary Range:

$30 - $33
