Job Overview

The Pillars of Mankato provides independent living, assisted living, and memory care apartments for seniors in a specially designed community.  We incorporate the seven components of wellness (emotional, physical, intellectual, spiritual, social, environmental, and occupational) into our 118 units that make up The Pillars.  Located in Mankato, MN near US highways 14 and 169's crossroads, our community has a bus that residents can ride for our outings. Managed by Ebenezer, Minnesota's largest senior living operator.

This Culinary Assistant/Server position is responsible for dining room and to-go meal service to senior age residents. 

The food services schedule includes;

  • 24 hours every two weeks ; Part Time
  • 6:30am-9:30am Wednesday and Thursday & every other Saturday and Sunday
  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities:

  • Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting:
  • Follows meal serving schedule and procedures.
  • Offers resident meal choices and meets residents’ specific dietary needs.
  • Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques.
  • Follows dining room cleaning schedule and procedures.
  • Follow proper procedures for dining room set-up.
  • Follows proper workflow to stay on task.
  • Learns and becomes proficient with EMenu System and restaurant style service.
  • Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before end of shift.
  • Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction:
  • Welcomes residents and initiates conversation.
  • Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
  • Listens to any complaints and responds appropriately. Refers issues to Executive Director and Culinary Director as appropriate.
