Qualifications

You are a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with an active North Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner license and at least an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy. You bring hands-on experience in adult, pediatric, and neonatal respiratory care, including assessments, oxygen and aerosol therapies, airway management, and emergency response, documented in the EMR. You hold BLS and ACLS, with PALS and NRP for pediatric/neonatal populations, and you collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As an RRT at WakeMed Cary, you’ll evaluate, treat, and manage adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients with respiratory illnesses and cardiopulmonary disorders across a variety of clinical settings. You’ll play a key role in improving patient outcomes by:

  • Performing comprehensive respiratory assessments and diagnostic procedures
  • Delivering all respiratory care treatments as ordered, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and airway management
  • Evaluating treatment effectiveness and adjusting care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Educating patients and families to support understanding and continuity of care
  • Responding to emergency situations and providing life‑saving respiratory support
  • Documenting care in the electronic medical record with accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism
