Real Estate, Lodging & Leisure Investment Banking Group

Houlihan Lokey’s Real Estate, Lodging & Leisure Investment Banking Group advises public and private REITs, REOCs, developers, asset managers, investors, and other owner / operators of real estate on structuring transformational transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, capital raises, spin-offs and restructurings.  With local market knowledge and a global investor reach, our senior bankers can access the leading public, private and institutional real estate investors and lenders.

More specifically, we offer objective, unbiased advice involving the following:

  • Public and private mergers & acquisitions;
  • Corporate-level and property-level capital raising and recapitalizations;

Job Description

An Analyst in the Real Estate, Lodging & Leisure Investment Banking Group in the New York office will work on a variety of active engagements, business development assignments, and growth initiatives. The group offers a unique opportunity for Analysts to work on a variety of projects that provide exposure to various financial advisory and investment banking products and sectors within the real estate industry. The Analyst will have the following tasks:

  • Prepare, analyze and help explain historical and projected financial information;
  • Coordinate and perform business due diligence and execute M&A and capital raising transactions;
  • Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations;
  • Value real estate companies, businesses, and assets; and
  • Assist in the marketing and planning of engagements.

Basic Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess the following qualities and background:

  • An undergraduate degree, including an exemplary academic record, from an accredited institution;
  • Advanced accounting, finance, financial modeling and analytical abilities;
  • Proficiency with Excel (particularly modeling skills) and PowerPoint;
  • A strong interest in real estate;
  • Nuanced understanding of real estate valuation theory, methodologies and applications;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Be an independent thinker and resourceful problem solver driven to succeed;
  • Have a very strong work ethic, organizational skills and ability to multitask; and
  • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff.

Compensation and Benefits

Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package, which may include other components such as discretionary incentive compensation. The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is:

$120,000-$130,000

Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience and the location where this position may be filled.
