About the Opportunity

This internship supports the Global R&D Strategy team within Driscoll’s Global Research & Development (R&D). The intern will provide general strategy and business support across a range of Global R&D functions – including Breeding, Plant Health, Nursery Operations, and Seed Technology – helping the team advance strategic initiatives, executive communications, and analysis that inform decision-making.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role designed to give the intern broad exposure to how strategy is developed and executed inside a global agricultural R&D organization. The intern will work alongside the Strategy Lead and other team members, with visibility to Director- and VP-level leaders within Global R&D. In practice, the work is a mix of research, quantitative analysis, executive communication, project coordination, and structured problem-solving.

 

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides general strategy and business support across Global R&D functions, partnering with team members on discrete initiatives aligned to Driscoll’s strategy.
  • Conducts research and gathers data to support competitive intelligence, market and consumer trends, and internal business questions.
  • Builds and refines executive presentations, summaries, and supporting materials for senior R&D stakeholders.
  • Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis (e.g., in Excel) to support strategic and business cases.
  • Supports the strategic planning process by helping prepare materials, track action items, and synthesize inputs from across functions.
  • Assists with project coordination, including organizing timelines, notes, and follow-ups for cross-functional initiatives.
  • Support Plant Health with a focus on enhancing AgTech scouting and validation projects.
  • Synthesizes complex information into clear, concise takeaways for a variety of audiences.
  • Represents Driscoll’s in an ethical and business-like professional manner in all interactions with co-workers, growers, suppliers, and the broader business community.

   

Candidate Profile

Requirements
•    Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (business, economics, finance, agricultural sciences, biology, data analytics, or a related discipline).
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort working through ambiguity.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
•    Strong written and oral communication skills.
•    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
•    Willingness and ability to “wear many hats” and adapt to support a variety of projects.
Preferred Qualifications & Competencies
•    Interest in agriculture, genetics, plant science, and/or the food industry.
•    Exposure to strategy, consulting, corporate development, or business analysis (coursework or prior experience).
•    Experience building executive-ready presentations and storyboards.
