The opportunity 

We are seeking a motivated Associate Industrial Engineer to support semiconductor and optical manufacturing operations through data-driven analysis, process improvement, and factory optimization initiatives. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who is eager to learn and contribute to automation, layout planning, and manufacturing efficiency projects in a fast-paced production environment.

The ideal candidate has foundational experience or internship exposure in semiconductor, optics, or advanced manufacturing environments and is interested in developing expertise in automation systems, capacity planning, and simulation tools.

This role is based onsite at our Plantation, FL office. Relocation assistance may be provided for qualified candidates.

What you’ll do 

  • Support equipment utilization analysis, WIP flow tracking, and basic capacity planning activities.
  • Assist in transitioning new processes from R&D into manufacturing under guidance from senior engineers.
  • Participate in Kaizen events and help document standard work (SOPs, work instructions).
  • Conduct time studies, value stream mapping, and OEE data collection to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze production data using statistical tools to support yield and throughput improvements.
  • Support factory layout updates using AutoCAD or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors and cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Prepare clear, concise presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.

The experience you bring

  • B.S. in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience (internships or co-ops acceptable) in semiconductor, optics, or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Foundational understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Exposure to SPC, OEE, DOE, or other statistical methodologies.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar layout tools.
  • Exposure to simulation tools such as FlexSim or Plant Simulation is a plus.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as JMP, Minitab, Excel, or Python is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Comfortable working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.

It’s exciting if you also have

  • Internship experience in semiconductor fabrication or optical manufacturing.
  • Exposure to automation systems (AMHS, AGV, OHV).
  • Lean or Six Sigma training (Green Belt not required but a plus).
  • Strong curiosity and desire to grow within manufacturing operations.
