Job Description
The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Athletics Photography Intern. This is a full-time (at-will and FLSA-non-exempt) position. Fringe benefits are not included. Salary is set at $16.00 an hour. The University of Iowa is an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 22 varsity sports programs and related events with a workforce of approximately 250 regular employees and 300 temporary employees. Responsibilities: The Athletics Photography Intern plays a key role in bringing Iowa Hawkeye Athletics to life through compelling visual storytelling. This position supports the External Relations team in creating dynamic content for 22 varsity sports programs competing in the Big Ten Conference. This position is responsible for capturing photography at athletic competitions, events, and related activities; editing and preparing images for distribution across digital and media platforms; and transmitting images in real time during events to support event coverage and media needs. Additional responsibilities include organizing and maintaining the department’s digital photography archive to ensure appropriate storage and accessibility of assets, and collaborating with communications, marketing, and creative staff to support departmental initiatives. This position may work up to forty hours per week and will require availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
