Job Description
Description
As an "Outside" Quality Inspector, you will be the first line of defense for product quality at the plant. You’ll inspect and document all incoming product. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, decisive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work schedule: Monday - Saturday, 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.
Requirements
High school graduate plus additional training needed. Ability to read, write and speak English required. Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions needed for job tasks. Neat handwriting preferred for completing forms by hand. Basic computer knowledge is essential.

Machines, Equipment, Tools Used
Titration equipment, metal gauges, length graders, knife, buckets, pans, blender, thermometer, salometer, pH machine, and calculator.
Physical Demands
Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerate degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.
Climbing: Use of stepladder and stepping up and down platforms will be needed to retrieve samples.
Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in handing.
Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of the fingertips.
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound.
Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Light Work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is also rated for light work.
Lifting: Occasional lifting required of weights equaling 25 pounds.
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data figures: transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
Work Environment
Works inside and outside with wide seasonal temperature variations (rain, snow, sleet, high temperatures, etc). Fumes from forklifts, raw materials including peppers and onions. Some contact with mud, dirt, dust, grease, chemicals, and brine. Head covers, safety glasses, gloves, and safety vests are required in some tasks.
