Job Description

Job Description:

POLITICO is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support the Professional Subscriptions team. This internship is designed for a college student or early-career professional interested in sales strategy, revenue operations, account management, customer success, and the business side of media subscriptions.

The Professional Subscriptions team is responsible for driving revenue growth across POLITICO’s subscription products by supporting new business, account management, and customer success efforts. This intern will work closely with sales, marketing, product, and operations teams to help support revenue-generating activities, improve sales processes, and contribute to the team’s broader go-to-market strategy.
This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced media business while learning how a professional subscriptions sales organization operates.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the Professional Subscriptions sales team with revenue-generating activities across new business, account management, and customer success.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, product, and operations teams to support sales strategy, customer engagement, and subscription growth initiatives.
  • Assist with CRM data hygiene, including updating account records, cleaning contact information, reviewing opportunity details, and helping ensure accurate sales pipeline data.
  • Help maintain and organize sales data, customer information, and reporting materials used to support team planning and decision-making.
  • Assist with weekly sales meetings, revenue forecasts, pipeline updates, and preparation of materials for leadership or team discussions.
  • Support account management and customer success efforts by helping track customer activity, renewal timelines, engagement opportunities, and account updates.
  • Assist the new business team with research, prospecting support, account mapping, and preparation of sales materials.
  • Work with the sales team on requests, data deliverables, and internal reporting needs.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve internal processes, reporting workflows, and communication across the Professional Subscriptions team.
  • Utilize AI and other tools, where appropriate, to improve workflow efficiency, customer communication, research, and data organization.
  • Support ongoing administrative and office tasks for the Professional Subscriptions team.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and evolving business needs as the team continues to build out its strategy and processes.

What You’ll Need:

  • Current college student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Interest in sales, revenue strategy, account management, customer success, media, or subscriptions.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with data and business systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a cross-functional team.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Salesforce, or similar tools is a plus, but not required.
  • Curiosity about how sales teams use data, customer insights, and strategy to drive revenue.

POLITICO illuminates the forces shaping global power. Since 2007, we have delivered intelligence that anticipates tomorrow's headlines, not reports on yesterday's news. As politics has increasingly become the defining force of our era, our work has never been more vital.

Cabinet secretaries and Ministers start their mornings with our analysis. CEOs shape strategy around our reporting. Advocacy leaders rely on our insights to move policy. We deliver the straightforward facts and clear-eyed analysis they need to navigate the most complex political landscape of our lifetimes.

Our 1,100+ publishing professionals across the world's key democratic capitals—Washington, Brussels, London, Paris, Berlin, Sacramento, and New York—form the world's premier politics and policy newsroom. We tell the story of how power really works by explaining who wields it and how they plan to exercise it, connecting dots others miss and delivering scoops from sources others don't even know exist.

Innovation has always been a core tenet of our story. At launch, we bet that depth would trump scale, that talent would trump traffic, and that politics would become central to modern life. In 2011, we made another bet and launched POLITICO Pro to help decision-makers understand the business of government, transforming both how they shape government action and the business of journalism itself.

These bets have made POLITICO the most successful digital news startup of its generation and the indispensable resource for leaders who shape the future. Today, we are a rarity in media: a growing, profitable, and sustainable news organization.
