American Management Association (AMA), a world leader in talent development, is looking for a Generative AI Intern who wants to gain hands-on experience building a conversational AI chatbot prototype. This internship will focus on developing an AI assistant that can search large collections of documents and deliver accurate, conversational responses.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in building a prototype AI chatbot capable of conversational interaction
• Integrate document collections into a searchable system using modern AI techniques
• Experiment with prompts to refine and improve AI-generated responses
• Enhance information retrieval accuracy using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts
• Design and test conversational workflows, including follow-up questions and user interactions
• Evaluate chatbot performance and recommend improvements
• Collaborate with team members on features and functionality while developing a simple web-based chat interface
• Other related duties

Qualifications: 

• Applicant must be authorized to work in the U.S. (International students must be able to provide proof of work authorization)
• Applicant must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Experience with AI tools such as OpenAI APIs preferred 
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) preferred

Skills: 

• Basic programming knowledge (Python or JavaScript)
• Familiarity with web development fundamentals
• Understanding of APIs and how to use them
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies

Internship Details: 

• Compensation: $20-$23/hour
• Internship Duration: 3 to 6 months 
• Hours/Days: up to 28 hours a week Monday through Friday
• Location: American Management Association, 1601 Broadway, New York, NY 10019
• Dress Code: business (collared shirt, trousers, shoes)
