Job Title: RedBox Rx Patient Care Advocate

General Function

Our mission as a company is to provide convenient, affordable, access to quality healthcare.  As a patient care advocate, you will provide prompt and friendly support to patients and providers with inquiries related to visits and treatments.  You will listen to and understand patient concerns and strive to provide resolutions.  All patient and provider interactions are completed either via email, chat, or telephone.  There are no in-person interactions with patients or providers. 

Reporting Relations

Accountable and Reports to:  President, RedBox Rx; Pharmacy Manager, RedBox Rx; Pharmacists

Positions that Report to you: None

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Responds to patient communication received via phone or email. Collaborates with team members to promote continuous improvement of patient experiences. Creates and maintains patient accounts. Communicates with patients regarding visits and treatments.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

Shares knowledge and experience with other employees. Performs other related job duties and special projects as required. Adheres to standard operating procedures and quality assurance standards. Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Healthcare experience is preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

  • Visual requirements include ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction.

  • Must be able to physically exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently to move objects.
  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Sitting, standing, reaching, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, typing and repetitive motions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics

  • Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at any given time
  • Ability to listen, understand, and provide resolutions to common patient concerns
  • Ability to learn and adapt in a growing telehealth setting
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Commitment to the Hy-Vee Mission and a willingness to promote the values of the company
  • Ability to be registered as a pharmacy support person with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy

Working Conditions

This position is in an office setting with other team members that involves continuous use of computers and frequent use of phones.
