Program Dates: August 3, 2026 - May 27, 2027
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Starting Pay: From $15.00/hour
About Club JClub J is the MJCCA’s dynamic after-school program serving more than 220 children annually in Pre-K through 5th grade. We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and creative individuals to join our team as After School Counselors.This is an excellent opportunity for high school seniors participating in Work-Based Learning (WBL) or dual enrollment programs, as well as college students or aspiring educators interested in gaining hands-on experience in child development, education, recreation, or youth programming.Our counselors help create a fun, safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive after school.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and actively engage with children in assigned groups
- Assist students with daily homework and academic support
- Lead and participate in activities such as arts & crafts, sports, STEM projects, dance, and team-building games
- Support the physical, emotional, and social well-being of all children
- Maintain a safe, organized, and structured environment at all times
- Assist with transitions between activities and adapt to schedule changes as needed
- Follow Club J curriculum, policies, and MJCCA procedures
Qualifications- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and lead groups of children effectively
- Creative, flexible, proactive, and team-oriented
- Dependable and punctual
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Experience- Experience working with children ages 5–12 preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (not required)
Physical Requirements- Ability to move comfortably between standing, sitting, crouching, and floor activities
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
