Job Description

This position reports to the Clerical Supervisor and to the Director of the Breast Diagnostic Center. There are no subordinates reporting to this position.

Core Competencies

  • Transcribes radiology reports from Dictaphone and MRS "tracking sheets", requiring a wide knowledge of medical and radiology terminology.

  • Enters and retrieves patient information in the MRS and radiology/hospital computer system

  • Generates medical reports and required follow-up letters as well as monthly reports from MRS system.

  • Identifies and sets priority for work to be transcribed.

  • Maintains files, cross indexing according to numerical or alphabetical coding system.

  • Performs general secretarial work for department as assigned.

  • Provides health care services in own job category to all age groups.

  • Edits Radiology reports from PowerScribe with attention to context, grammar, punctuation and spelling.

Compensation Range: 
$26.54 - $40.25 / Hour
