Our core values embody the way we interact with each other just as it influences the way we interact with clients.   We are currently recruiting for a 1st Shift Maintenance, Repair, and Operations Technician Assistant to join our team!  The 1st Shift Maintenance, Repair, and Operations Technician Assistant is responsible for assisting our Maintenance, Repair, and Operations Technician with performing the maintenance, repair, and safe operations of all facilities and machinery in the plant, and for working as a press assistant.  This position offers onsite training and the opportunity to learn a valuable skilled trade in the printing industry. Employees will have unlimited growth potential and the chance to continuously advance your career.  Previous printing experience in a manufacturing setting is a huge plus.  This position reports to the Senior Operations Manager.    Pay Rate: $22.00-$24.00/hour Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 6:30AM-3:00PM, with occasional overtime   Responsibilities:
  • Assists the Maintenance, Repair, and Operations Technician with managing scheduled and emergency maintenance and repair work to facilities and equipment.
  • Helps maintain equipment maintenance and cleaning logs in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Helps generate purchase orders for needed supplies and follows up on invoices as necessary 
  • Helps conduct visual inspections of building, grounds, facilities, equipment, and projects as needed
  • Learns from facilities-oriented failures and works as part of the maintenance team to develop solutions to bring to management
  • Helps keep track of inventory of supplies and material necessary for the operation of the building and equipment maintenance
  • Assists with identifying workplace hazards that exist or could develop, as well as with correcting problems
  • Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards
  • Performs other duties (including learn how to be a press assistant) as requested

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of maintenance experience desired - specialized training in carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical fundamentals are preferred
  • Experience in the printing industry is a plus
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Must be able to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices

    • Most of the time will be spent in the manufacturing plant, which may contain equipment and machinery that can be noisy and hazardous
    • Occasionally works at a desk to complete administrative tasks
    • Is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts 
    • Is occasionally exposed to chemicals, some of which could be hazardous
    • Noise level is usually moderate
