The Real-World Project Experience is a six-week virtual cohort program where students and recent graduates work in teams on structured challenges inspired by issues organizations are actively navigating across climate, energy, workforce, infrastructure, operations, and community impact.

Participants complete Green Career Essentials training, collaborate through live cohort sessions, engage with guest speakers and professionals, and develop portfolio-ready project work they can use in future applications and interviews.

MobilizeGreen is a national nonprofit that prepares emerging professionals for meaningful careers through learning experiences, career development, and workforce pathways. Through partnerships with employers, universities, and communities, MobilizeGreen helps participants build skills, confidence, and practical professional experience.

Your Experience:

As a participant, you will join a cohort-based experience designed to strengthen collaboration, communication, and professional skills while working on a structured real-world challenge. As part of your experience, you will:

  • Complete Green Career Essentials training prior to the cohort start
  • Work in teams to explore and analyze a structured challenge topic
  • Participate in live cohort sessions and facilitated project workshops
  • Engage with guest speakers, mentors, and professionals
  • Conduct research, organize insights, and develop recommendations
  • Build teamwork, communication, and presentation skills
  • Develop portfolio-ready project deliverables
  • Deliver a final virtual presentation during the cohort showcase
  • Earn digital credentials and certificates upon successful completion

Your experience will provide exposure to how organizations balance growth, workforce needs, operations, and community priorities while helping participants develop practical experience employers value.

Term of Service:

  • Cohort 1: June 15, 2026 through July 24, 2026
  • Cohort 2: July 20, 2026 through August 28, 2026
  • (6 weeks, part-time virtual)

Live Sessions: Thursdays, 7:00–8:30 PM ET

Participant Qualifications:

  • Current college students or recent graduates within the past two years preferred
  • Interest in climate, energy, nonprofit, workforce, infrastructure, operations, technology, or impact-related careers
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to participate consistently in a virtual team-based experience
  • Curious, motivated, and interested in building professional skills

Time Commitment: Approximately 3–4 hours per week
