Childcare Center Custodian

The Learning Experience – White Plains
The Learning Experience in White Plains is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our children, families, and staff. This role is essential in supporting daily center operations and ensuring the facility consistently meets health, safety, and licensing standards.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, responds quickly to facility needs, and understands the importance of cleanliness in an early childhood education environment.
Pay: $18-$22/hr 

Schedule

• 25 - 30 hour work day  opportunities available
• 2:00-8:00pm

Qualifications

• Prior custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced childcare environment
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the day
• Must be dependable, professional, and team-oriented
• Flexible schedule availability preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness throughout classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, offices, kitchen, and common areas
• Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing duties according to center standards and licensing requirements
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces throughout the building
• Manage trash removal and recycling throughout the day
• Monitor and restock cleaning and restroom supplies
• Assist with classroom setup, furniture movement, and minor maintenance tasks
• Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly to leadership
• Support playground cleanliness and outdoor upkeep
• Help maintain a safe environment for children and staff at all times
• Follow all health, sanitation, and safety procedures
