The ER is a 12-bed unit that provides direct patient care to critically ill adult patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

How you'll contribute

An ER Services Registered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
  • Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within one month of hire, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of hire
  • Education: Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Licenses: Must have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license within 6 months of hire
