As a Universal Banker, you'll be the face of Suffolk, delivering exceptional service while guiding members through everyday banking needs, new accounts, loans, and digital banking solutions. Key Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver exceptional member service by processing daily banking transactions accurately and efficiently.

  • Open and service deposit accounts, including checking, savings, money market, CDs, and IRAs.

  • Originate consumer loans, including personal, auto, home equity, and credit card applications.

  • Build strong member relationships through personalized financial conversations and proactive outreach.

  • Identify member needs and recommend products and services aligned with their financial goals.

  • Resolve member inquiries, account issues, and service requests with professionalism and care.

  • Educate and support members in using digital banking and self-service tools.

  • Assist with account maintenance, disputes, wire transfers, and other transactional services.

  • Collaborate with branch partners to deliver seamless, holistic financial solutions.

  • Participate in branch sales initiatives, community outreach, and credit union events.

  • Support contact center operations during peak call periods to ensure consistent member service.

  • Stay current on products, technology, and industry trends to better support members and colleagues.

Essential Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years of experience in banking, financial services, teller operations, or customer-facing sales.
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn banking and digital platforms.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including Saturdays and extended weekday hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience with a credit union, community bank, or regional financial institution.
  • NMLS registration or willingness to obtain registration.
  • Proven success meeting referral or sales goals.
  • Familiarity with digital banking tools, mobile apps, and fintech platforms.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent computer and telephone use.
  • Occasional handling of cash and coin.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Reasonable accommodations available in accordance with applicable law.
