Job Description

Kāhala Nui, considered Hawaiʻi’s premier senior living community, is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Overnight Resident Care Assistant (RCA) to join our team.   POSITIONS SUMMARY: Assist residents with their ADLs to ensure that they are receiving person-centered care and service. Follows the direction of the licensed nurse, Director of AL/MS, ADON and/or DON. Works with residents living in Assisted Living (AL) and Memory Support (MS) as assigned and on a rotating basis. May be assigned to work on the Nursing Unit if certified as a CNA.   Note: This position does NOT require a Hawaii CNA license and does NOT provide relocation assistance.            Evening and Night shifts receive a shift differential pay.   SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Overnight Shift: 10:00PM - 6:30AM
  • Must have flexible availability to work day and evening shifts as needed. 
  • Must be available Sunday through Saturday, including weekends and holidays. 
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Equivalent experience or education may be substituted at the hiring manager’s discretion for educational or work experience requirements.   REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with residents and families. 
  • Ability to follow care plans, policies and safety procedures. 
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents safely, including standing, bending and prolonged walking or standing. 
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. 
  • Proof of annual tuberculosis clearance in accordance with state regulations. 
  • Proof of valid CPR AED and First Aid certification. 
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 100 hours of nurse's aide training or Certified Nurse's Assistant certificate preferred.
  • Previous experience in caregiving, resident care, assisted living, healthcare, or a related field. 
  • Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or memory care residents.
