Phlebotomist Certification from a Nationally Recognized Board/Agency: ASCP; or CVAS-Certified Venous Access Specialist; or ASPT-American Society Phlebotomist Technician; or NHA-National Healthcareer Association; or NCCT-Phlebotomy National Center for Competency Testing; or ACAH-American Certification Agency for Healthcare Professionals; or Medical2; or NPA-National Phlebotomy Association; or Phlebotomy Technician from MedCA, or Becksford, or AMT-American Medical Technologists, or NPS-National Performance Specialist, AAH- American Allied Health, or NHOC-National Healthcare Organization Certification certifications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of blood processing and handling procedures. Knowledge of relevant clinical and patient care regulations, policies, procedures, and standards. Knowledge of infection control and sterile procedures. Interpersonal skills to allay pay patient fears and interact with staff. Ability to perform standard phlebotomy procedures and techniques. Ability to comply with clinical protocol, specifications, and procedures. Ability to complete and maintain documents and records.
