Job Description

SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting Finance, Development, and Asset Management in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and decision-making activities across a diverse portfolio of real estate assets. This position involves evaluating potential developments and acquisitions, monitoring investment and asset performance, and providing actionable insights to senior management. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure accurate financial modeling, budgeting, reporting, tracking, and strategic decision-making.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance detailed financial models for real estate projects and corporate initiatives.
  • Support Development and Asset Management teams by preparing cost-per-unit analyses, utility and product cost modeling, and financial inputs for pro forma underwriting.
  • Analyze financial performance and prepare variance reports, forecasts, trend analyses, and updated actual performances while maintaining organization.
  • Assist in evaluating potential acquisitions and investment opportunities across multiple asset classes (e.g., multifamily, hospitality, medical, single-family, master-planned developments).
  • Assist in financial closings by tracking documents, gathering and organizing due diligence files, and properly saving closing documents.
  • Support finance by updating the REO, cash sheet, and loan sheets.
  • Support asset management by monitoring and preparing budgets, cash flows, and returns on investment.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for senior management and stakeholders when needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data and compliance with company standards.
  • Participate in tax assessment reviews and assist with appeals when necessary.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned by Finance, Asset Management, or other departments when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Willingness to be a team player.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in real estate or investment management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in financial modeling.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
