Job Description

Scheduler - Full Time

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serves as main resource to physician for surgery scheduling
  • Answer phone calls, emails, confirming appointments, greeting patients and prospective patients in all interaction.
  • Schedule patient for procedure 
  • Liaise and coordinate with healthcare professionals about schedules, patients and any changes to schedules
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts as they occur.
  • Responsible for Answering scheduling main line and transferring, taking messages and helping patients accordingly and resolve scheduling conflicts as they occur.
  • Ensure all incoming orders have demographics, insurance, authorization information and all other pertinent information and communicate with referring provider office for needed or missing information.
  • Verify insurance eligibility for both medial insurance for upcoming appointments by utilizing online websites or by contacting the carriers directly. 
  • Maintains patient demographic information and data collection systems.
  • Review patient deductibles and/or copays and enter the billing system and spreadsheets provided to the front-end department at all locations. 

 Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous scheduling and medical office experience preferred
  • Basic word processing, order entry, spreadsheets
  • Must meet all Employee Health requirements
