Job Description
This is a Merit Hire position. Hourly Rate: $22.76 per hour. Dauphin County Drug & Alcohol Services is currently accepting applications for the full-time, day shift position of Prevention Specialist (Northern Dauphin). The person in this position will provide direct prevention services as mandated by the six federal strategies to the community and school districts in Dauphin County. These duties will include being a drug and alcohol liaison to Student Assistance Program teams in Dauphin County school districts, which includes performing assessments and attending core team meetings, parent-teacher conferences and other SAP related school events. conducts client screenings and assessments, arranging for client placements, and making referrals to other social service agencies for all ages within the Northern Dauphin community. Education and prevention activities are performed throughout the Dauphin County community during traditional and non-traditional hours.

At the time of hire, a valid driver’s license and positive driving record, a favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable references are required. The applicant must provide proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire. An alternative form of identification will be accepted if you are not eligible to receive a Pennsylvania driver’s license under 67 PA. Code § 83 and driving is not an essential function of the position.
