Alera Group is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly analytical, motivated professional looking to contribute to meaningful client work while collaborating with a dynamic actuarial team. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will support actuarial consulting engagements through data analysis, financial modeling, reporting, and client deliverables. This role offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally on technical actuarial work, strategic client initiatives, and business development efforts while continuing to build your actuarial expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support actuarial consulting projects through data collection, analysis, modeling, and interpretation of results
  • Assist with feasibility studies, financial projections, actuarial valuations, and pro forma modeling
  • Prepare actuarial reports, presentations, and client-facing deliverables with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Partner with internal teams on new business opportunities, proposal development, and client meetings as needed
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and technical capability enhancements
  • Support special projects and broader team initiatives as assigned
  • Travel occasionally for in-person collaboration with team members, including annual meetings in the Boston area

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Progress toward Associateship in the Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS)
  • Minimum of two actuarial exams passed within the past two years
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with actuarial modeling tools and technical platforms such as Excel, Python, VBA, ProVal, or similar tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts clearly
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively
  • High level of responsiveness, adaptability, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or professional actuarial experience in consulting, insurance, or financial services
  • Experience with healthcare, retirement, or employee benefits actuarial work (if applicable to team focus)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
