Job Description

Windward Life Care is seeking a full-time Staffing Coordinator (Thursday through Monday schedule) to join our team!

We offer geriatric care management services and non-medical home care services to clients who are billed on a private-pay basis. Responsibilities: The Staffing Coordinator works with the other members of the Staffing team to schedule our 100+ Home Care Aides (HCAs) on an ongoing basis. This includes being responsible for the following in a time-sensitive environment:

  • Matching the skills and availability of our HCAs with client needs
  • Using staffing software to make sure all shifts are filled
  • Managing call-offs
  • Answering daily communications from and build positive relationships with HCAs and Care Managers
  • Verifying hours worked for payroll
  • While On Call: being the first point of contact for HCA concerns, triaging calls to the On Call Care Manager for clinical concerns as needed

In the uncommon event normal Home Care Aide coverage cannot immediately and appropriately be scheduled, the Staffing Coordinator may also travel to client homes to perform direct client care services/”gap coverage” until a regular HCA can be scheduled.

Regular Work Schedule & Location:

Thursday through Monday, 8:30am to 3:00pm plus on call, after-hours staffing coverage as follows:

  • Fridays 5:00pm through Saturdays at 8:30am
  • Saturdays at 3:00pm through Sundays at 8:30am
  • Sundays at 3:00pm through Mondays at 8:30am

This position will be on-site working in our Downtown San Diego (Bankers Hill) corporate office for scheduled work hours on Thursdays, Fridays, and Mondays. Saturday and Sunday scheduled hours and on call hours will take place remotely.

PLEASE NOTE: Some flexibility is possible for the Thu/Sat/Sun 8:30am-3:00pm scheduled work hours - so if this schedule doesn’t exactly match up with your needs, please don’t let that stop you from applying!

Pay: $22.50 - $26.50 per hour plus on call stipend

  • Highly desired: 1+ years of Staffing/Scheduling experience, preferably in a home care/home health setting, or another high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently to successfully and creatively problem solve in a crisis-oriented environment
  • Ability to remain calm and focused, multitask, and maintain a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Ability to be detail-oriented when dealing with a large volume of incoming information
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of professionalism
  • Demonstration of strategic, organizational, analytical, communication, and judgment skills
  • Strong technology proficiency, including use of web-based office systems such as Google Workspace – experience with ClearCare is a plus
  • Ability to pass Home Care Services Bureau (HCSB) background screen
  • Active driver's license, clean driving record and reliable vehicle
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs. unassisted
