Job Description

SUMMARY

May be responsible for direction of any store personnel in the absence of Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager or Store Supervisor. Ensure all Goodwill policies and procedures are followed and submits necessary documentation on a timely basis. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. * Demonstrate internal Company Values at all times.
  2. * Ensure proper cash handling, enforcement of cash register procedures and submission of required reports.
  3. Report all unusual or suspicious occurrences as they happen, or are brought to your attention, to the Store
    1. High school diploma or GED or a minimum of one (1) year retail experience. 
    2. Knowledgeable in merchandising and industry trends. 
    3. Ability to operate a cash register, count money and make change. 
    4. Ability to read, write and speak English and have a basic math aptitude. 
    5. Ability to realistically assess values of merchandise. 
    6. May be required to successfully complete and maintain:
  4. Manager.
  5. * Assist in all areas of sales floor or backroom that is needed. 
  6. * Assist in pricing, donor greeting or other areas of store operations.
  7. * Assist Store Manager in operating store at or above goal; provide necessary direction to employees in absence of store management.
  8. * Communicate appropriately with everyone; assist customers as needed.
  9. * Assist Store Management in day-to-day operations.
  10. * Work closely with everyone to ensure donations are properly sorted. 
  11. Ensure cleanliness and image of Store.
  12. Coordinate and communicate transportation and maintenance needs to appropriate individuals.
  13. Assist in ordering and maintaining supplies.
  14. Assist in rotating aged textiles and hard goods in alignment with company policies and procedures.
  15. Assess the quality of all merchandise received from production 
  16. Observe customers to reduce pilferage of Goodwill property.
  17. Clean up all work areas at the end of each shift.
  18. Follow all company and department policies and procedures.
  19. Follow all safety rules/procedures; Report accidents or injuries immediately.
  20. Assists in other areas as requested

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  1. High school diploma or GED or a minimum of one (1) year retail experience. 
  2. Knowledgeable in merchandising and industry trends. 
  3. Ability to operate a cash register, count money and make change. 
  4. Ability to read, write and speak English and have a basic math aptitude. 
  5. Ability to realistically assess values of merchandise. 
  6. May be required to successfully complete and maintain:
  • Article 9 and Prevention and Support and Certified Monitor Training.
  1. Complete and maintain CPR and 1st Aid certification
  2. May be required to gain background and fingerprint clearance to provide services to program participants of the Division of Developmental Disabilities) within 90 days of employment.
  3. Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds and be able to stand for long periods at a time; bend, reach and stretch repeatedly during a shift.
  4. Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
  5. Ability to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends).
  6. Ability and willingness to transfer to other stores as requested.
  7. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision. 
  8. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all individuals.
