The Team Leader plays a key role in supporting daily warehouse operations and ensuring adherence to BLG’s high standards of performance, safety, and quality. This position drives productivity, fosters teamwork, and upholds compliance across assigned functional areas. While duties may vary by department, the focus remains on process consistency, quality control, team development, and operational efficiency.
Deliver, track, and verify Standardized Work training for all assigned employees.
Conduct regular 5S, Process, and Standard Work (SWS) audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Oversee completion and documentation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) checks, including downtime logs and corrective actions.
Monitor recurring quality issues; perform daily audits of key checkpoints and drive root cause analysis and corrective measures.
Complete and distribute end-of-shift reports and logbooks to maintain communication across shifts.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records and versatility matrices to ensure compliance and operational readiness.
Manage and update Circle of Skills and operator rotation schedules to optimize workflow balance and skill development.
Gather, share, and implement continuous improvement ideas from team members.
Serve as an on-the-floor resource to assist team members as needed to maintain efficiency and productivity.
Perform other duties as assigned to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
While this position does not include formal direct reports, the Team Leader provides functional leadership, offering coaching, coordination, and mentorship to team members to ensure alignment with company standards and performance goals.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED (required)
1–3 months of related experience and/or training (preferred)
Skills & Knowledge:
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced logistics or warehouse environment
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Experience operating warehouse equipment (preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) (training provided)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic math proficiency (fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages)
Ability to interpret data, charts, and operational metrics
Reasoning Ability:
Strong comprehension of detailed written and verbal instructions
Ability to apply logical thinking and problem-solving to routine operational issues
Certificates & Licenses:
Valid Driver’s License (required)
Forklift Certification (preferred; training provided)
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and perform manual tasks
Frequent overhead work and use of hands for material handling
Occasionally required to talk or hear
Must frequently lift or move up to 15 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
Requires close vision and ability to adjust focus
