JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an AI/ML Engineering Intern to support the design, development, and operational excellence of our Core Platform AI/ML services. You will work with engineering and product stakeholders to improve platform capabilities such as model/agent integration, evaluation, automation, and developer experience. This is a malleable role that can – to some extent – be shaped by mutual goals and expertise.
Responsibilities:
The intern will contribute to AVID's AI platform across two workstreams:
MCP Platform: production-hardening AVID's MCP server ecosystem and expanding the API surface AI assistants can act through
AVID Apprentice, the new agentic AI runtime that sits across AVID products
Day-to-day work will involve writing production Python, contributing to architectural discussions, and pairing with senior engineers. The work touches OAuth and service-mesh security, multi-provider LLM integration, temporal workflow authoring, evaluation tooling, observability, and the skill / role / action data layer that drives agent behavior.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently pursuing a BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language.
Comfort working with APIs, data structures, and basic software engineering practices (version control, code reviews, testing).
Ability to learn quickly, communicate clearly, and collaborate in a team environment.
Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) for the duration of the internship (May 25–Aug 21).
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with LLM/GenAI concepts (prompting, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, evaluation methodologies).
Understanding of data pipelines and storage systems (SQL, Spark, object storage).
