Summary: The Supply Chain Intern will support the supply chain team in tracking and expediting purchase orders, reviewing order acknowledgements, sourcing new vendors, comparing prices and terms, coordinating with vendors to resolve discrepancies, and maintaining database accuracy.

Shift: Monday - Friday; 8:00am- 4:30pm; overtime as required

Wage Range: $21.00

Essential Functions:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below satisfactorily.

  • Track and expedite purchase orders
    • Ensure on-time delivery of purchase orders by tracking and expediting them.
  • Review and confirm order acknowledgements
    • Maintain timely deliveries by reviewing and confirming order acknowledgements from suppliers.
  • Support in sourcing new vendors
    • Maintain fill rates by sourcing new vendors for different product categories.
  • Compare price, delivery, and terms
    • Support decision making by comparing price, delivery, and terms across suppliers.
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve discrepancies
    • Maintain ERP database accuracy by coordinating with vendors to resolve discrepancies related to orders, invoices, or shipments.
  • Database entry and project analysis
    • Support the supply chain team with ongoing projects through database entry and project analysis.

  • Knowledge, Education, Experience and/or Certifications: 
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of one year of post-secondary education in a related field.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with all programs in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • On-the-job training may be required.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Apply abstract concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
    • Communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
    • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations and professional drawings.
    • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Present information to and respond to questions from other employees at Miller.
    • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
    • Apply good judgment in recognizing scope of authority.
    • A qualified candidate must possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
    • Apply abstract concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Lifting Requirements: Continuously 1-10lbs, frequently 11-20lbs, occasionally 21-35lbs, rarely 35-50lbs and never 51-100+lbs.

Movement Requirements: Continuously sitting, talking or hearing, touch/feeling, and typing. Frequently standing, walking, reaching upward or outward, bending the neck side-to-side and pinching/finger manipulation. Occasionally climb/balance, kneeling/crouch/squat, grasping/turning the wrist and never taste/smell.
