Role Purpose: 

We are currently seeking an Water Engineer Intern to join our Water Business Line in our Middletown, CT or East Greenwich, RI office. This position will be heavily involved in fieldwork in New London, CT. The intern responsible for overseeing and inspecting construction projects to ensure compliance with national standards, codes of practice, and project specifications.

Role accountabilities: 

As a Water Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on various aspects of water infrastructure projects. This will include involvement in planning, process evaluations, detailed design, and construction administration. Your role may also require fieldwork such as conducting site visits and observing construction activities. Additionally, you will be responsible capturing historical data from plans and other documentation and applying data analytics to capture and record this information. Strong communication skills (both oral and written) are essential in this role as you will be working closely with staff and clients. You will also need to demonstrate client-facing skills including preparing and delivering effective presentations, participating in client meetings, and interacting with clients and subcontractors in the field.  

In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, you will also be accountable for: 

• Ability to work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously, with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• A self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible individual who possesses the initiative and ability to take on new projects and challenges regularly.
• Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and thoroughness in all aspects of analysis and execution.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
