About the Role:

The Night Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth financial and operational functioning of a hotel during overnight hours. This position is responsible for accurately reconciling daily financial transactions, auditing guest accounts, and preparing detailed reports that support management decision-making. The Night Auditor acts as the primary point of contact for guests during the night shift, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any issues that arise. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Ultimately, the Night Auditor helps maintain the integrity of the hotel's financial records while contributing to a positive guest experience during off-peak hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
  • Experience with hotel property management systems (PMS) or similar software.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts and independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in hospitality management, accounting, or related field.
  • Previous experience as a Night Auditor or in a similar hospitality role.
  • Proficiency with advanced accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with hotel safety and security procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform nightly audit of all hotel financial transactions, including room charges, payments, and adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile daily revenue reports and prepare detailed audit reports for management review.
  • Manage front desk operations during the overnight shift, including guest check-ins, check-outs, and responding to guest inquiries or concerns.
  • Monitor security and safety protocols throughout the property during the night shift and report any irregularities.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure seamless communication across shifts.
