  Awesome Co-op opportunity at Ultralife! (Fall 2026 session)

Job Summary: 

With guidance of the New Product Developement Engineering group, the co-op role will take on a variety of independent and team projects to support and improve the manufacturing processes of our products. These projects will span across all NPD and Manufacturing departments and will focus on increasing overall productivity. Interaction will be necessary with all levels of NPD personnel and management. This position will requires both a team player and the skills and self-discipline to work independently.

Scope of developmental opportunities:

  • Technical writing of process work instructions
  • Create as-built drawing
  • Support DCR's
  • Proficient with Solidworks drawings and operation, also proficient in Draft sight (DWG’s)
  • Process development and improvement
  • Standardization and documentation of existing fixtures
  • Improve existing fixtures and tooling
  • Design new fixtures and tooling
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations
  • Learn and understand the battery manufacturing process

Education / Training / Skills / Experience: 

  • Must be pursuing an Engineering Degree with at least three years of classroom work completed.
  • SolidWorks experience preferred, or ability to learn
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good communication skills
  • Understand engineering drawings and principles
  • Ability to manage a varied workload in an efficient manner
  • Good analytical skills
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks
  • Hard working, team player, “hands on” person, ready to spend time on the manufacturing floor.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use hands for repetitive action such as pushing, pulling and grasping small parts.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to alternate sitting and standing for 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to visually inspect product for quality and distinguish small detail.
  • Ability to work around the following chemicals; Acetone, Isopropyl Alcohol
