Cherry Bekaert is seeking a Tax Staff Associate to join our growing Houston office. This role is ideal for someone early in their tax career who is looking to build a strong technical foundation while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment.

As a Tax Staff Associate, you will gain hands‑on experience across a variety of tax engagements, work with clients from multiple industries, and develop your skills through meaningful work and ongoing mentorship.

As a Tax Staff Associate, you will:

• Work on a wide variety of tax engagements under the supervision of Tax Seniors and Tax Managers

• Engage and serve clients across multiple industries

• Communicate with project in‑charges and clients throughout engagements

• Prepare basic and intermediate individual tax returns

• Prepare federal and multi‑state corporate tax returns, as well as basic partnership returns

• Research fundamental tax issues using online research tools

• Prepare and organize workpapers to support client deliverables

• Perform other essential duties as needed to support the tax practice

What you bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field

• 0+ years of relevant accounting or tax experience (internship experience welcomed)

• Proficiency with computers and spreadsheet software programs

• Ability to travel to client sites as needed, including same‑day and occasional out‑of‑town travel

• Willingness and ability to work moderate overtime throughout the year, with heavier overtime during peak tax seasons
