As an Aircraft Component Technician I, you will work with aircraft safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and oxygen tanks. You will perform minor service functions including cleaning, disassembling, and preparing units in accordance with written procedures and specifications. You will read and interpret manuals, diagrams, and service bulletin boards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role: (other duties may be assigned) Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Evacuation and recovery of Fire Extinguishing agent (Halon) from fire extinguisher assemblies
• Disassembly of fire extinguisher assemblies using basic hand tools and angle grinder to cut welds
• Reading and understanding of Component Maintenance Manuals to properly evacuate and disassemble fire extinguisher assemblies
• Routine maintenance of halon reclamation machine and specialized tools
Physical Demands
Continuous standing for extended periods of time; This entails good mobility, endurance, and adaptability to workload. Mobility and manual dexterity is required and the ability to operate various hand tools and large machinery efficiently. Familiarity with computers, printers, scanners, and other common office machinery performing tasks such as typing, filing, scanning and handling paperwork with ease.
See in the normal visual range with or without correction lenses; hear in the normal audio range with or without correction intermittently.
Work Environment
Warehouse environment; varying temperatures (heat and cold) and dust. Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
QualificationsRequirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Perform basic math functions
• Read, write and speak English to understand instructions and read customer manuals
• Ability to read and interpret manuals and drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to work in a team environment
