Maintenance Laborer - 1st shift

Primary Objective of Position:

The Maintenance Labor role is responsible for general cleaning of the shop area, including break rooms, restrooms, manufacturing floor aisles and parking lot.

Skills Matrix:

The Maintenance Labor position is part of the Maintenance Team skills Matrix. This position works as a team member utilizing and performing to the Maintenance Team skills matrix, which outlines the comprehensive skills in the Maintenance Team.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Cleans shop break rooms and restrooms. Empty trash, wash windows, power sweep, power scrub and wash floors, clean countertops/surfaces, plumbing fixtures. Refill paper products and maintain supplies.
  • Empty manufacturing floor trash into larger dumpster, and when necessary the larger dumpster into the compactor.
  • Clean trash containers and dumpsters when needed using the high pressure washer in the wash booth.
  • Bale cardboard in compactor when needed.
  • Works in other areas of the Maintenance Team skills matrix, may perform basic Maintenance duties and support Electrical Mechanical Technicians.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day to day work.
  • Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • High School degree (preferred) with a 1 year of maintenance experience (preferred).
  • Ability to be certified in overhead crane, Jib crane and forklift operation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Routinely lifts and moves objects up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasionally lifts and moves objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Routinely ascends/descends ladders and stairs.
  • Occasionally works at heights or on platforms.
  • Routinely positions self in various works spaces, including low, tight or confined spaces.
  • Routinely remains in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Routinely uses repetitive motions including the wrists, hands or fingers to operate machinery or tools.
  • Routinely moves from one work station to another to accomplish tasks.

Pay Types

Voluntary weekday and weekend overtime.
