Maintenance Assistant/Housekeeping Assistant

Are you skilled in maintaining and housekeeping? We are seeking a Maintenance/Housekeeping Assistant to help ensure the functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities.  The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background in Skilled Nursing facilities and a proactive approach to solving problems. This hands-on role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.

Overview:
As a Building Maintenance Assistant/Housekeeping Assisting, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring our facility operates smoothly. You’ll be responsible for inspecting and repairing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, coordinating maintenance schedules, and responding to requests to provide a safe and well-maintained environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with painting, light carpentry, electrical, plumbing, grounds maintenance, and preventative maintenance
• Help maintain the overall safety and functionality of the facility through timely repairs and preventative measures
• Ensure the facility meets all safety regulations and standards
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants
• Perform maintenance-related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director
• Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains and floors.
• Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms.
• Maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris.
• Clean and remove dust, dirt or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures. towel bars, towel dispensers.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including the use of caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of the residents.
• Use supplies and equipment in a safe manner by following the user manual instructions.
• Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean and orderly manner.
• Perform housekeeping duties as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping.
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies are needing replenished.
• Excellent customer skills and positive attitude.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently or with a team. 

Skills and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Commitment to high standards of customer service and safety
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required
