Lot Porter/Facilities Maintenance

Johnson Truck Center, a subsidiary of Indel Power Group, has an opening for a Lot Porter/Facilities Maintenance associate.  This position is focused on supporting the daily operations of the branch by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility and lot environment. The Lot Porter / Facilities Maintenance employee will assist multiple departments as needed while helping ensure the property, grounds, and work areas are properly maintained.

This job description contains a summary of responsibilities and expectations for the Lot Porter / Facilities Maintenance role. These duties should not be considered to include all aspects of the position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, service shop, parking lot, and surrounding grounds 
  • Remove trash, cardboard, pallets, scrap materials, and other debris from the property 
  • Assist with basic building and grounds maintenance as needed 
  • Move, organize, and stage vehicles and equipment throughout the lot and service areas 
  • Support technicians and service personnel with general shop assistance 
  • Perform pickup and delivery of parts, supplies, and other company-related items as needed 
  • Monitor the facility and report any maintenance, safety, or operational concerns to management 
  • Assist with maintaining a safe and professional working environment for employees and customers 
  • Operate company equipment and vehicles safely and responsibly 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management 

Requirements

  • Class B CDL required
  • 6–12 months of previous work experience preferred 
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions and information 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and machinery 
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety 
  • Valid driver’s license required 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods 
  • Ability to bend, lift, carry, push, and pull materials as needed 
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
