Front Desk Agent

Salary Range $18.00-$19.00 per hour (experience-based compensation)

Position Summary

As a key member of our front desk team, you serve as the heart of the hotel, where most guest interactions begin and end. Your role directly shapes each guest’s overall experience. As a Front Desk Agent, you are the first point of contact, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment guests arrive. You provide smooth, efficient service across all shifts—including morning (AM), evening (PM), and overnight audit periods—ensuring consistency and professionalism at all times. Candidates must be able to work the 10:00 PM–6:00 AM Night Auditor shift as needed to meet property scheduling demands. Your responsibilities include managing check‑ins and check‑outs, handling reservations, and addressing guest inquiries or concerns with courtesy, accuracy, and exceptional customer service.

Essential Functions

  • Check guests in and out of the hotel according to hotel and/or brand standards.
  • Inform guests about the hotel’s facilities, policies, and procedures. Provide tourist information to guests.
  • Handle the hotel phone system. Transfer calls to appropriate departments/guests. Accurately take messages for guests.
  • Take, modify, and cancel guestroom reservations.
  • Deal with inquiries, requests, and complaints from guests. Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guests' special requests.
  • Perform cashier duties: post phone charges and other miscellaneous charges to guest accounts.
  • Notify housekeeping and maintenance of any reported problems with guestrooms or grounds.
  • Follow in-house procedures to help ensure the security of guests and employees. Know hotel emergency procedures.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Front Office area.

Additional Responsibilities

  • The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands, and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.
  • Employees are required to adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.

  • Ability to maintain control and composure in difficult situations and exhibit good judgment.
  • Previous hotel front desk experience preferred
