*Please note that this position has a 4/10 schedule. The hours are Monday through Thursday, from 4:00am to 2:00pm. This position also works outdoors.

YOUR TOP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will coordinate and provide day labor opportunities of 5 hours per day/4 day per week for people living on the streets.
  • You will coordinate a scheduling system for project referrals and conduct location pre-screening to ensure project preparation.
  • You will connect them with resources to help get them off the streets.
  • You will work closely with municipal contacts on Will Works projects.
  • You will participate in public relations events and media interviews as related to the Street Outreach Program.
  • You will lead or participate in devotions, prayers, or other organization activities that promote a credible Christian witness and lifestyle.

Requirements

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • You have your High School Diploma or GED.
  • You have at least one year of experience performing homeless street outreach or in a similar setting.
  • You are preferably certified in Peer Support and have experienced living in homelessness.
  • You have a valid Arizona State driver’s license; clear driving record; personal vehicle insurance coverage.
  • You have strong critical thinking skills.
  • You have superior judgment and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • You have a solid and credible Christian witness and lifestyle that exemplifies Christ in character and actions.

Phoenix Rescue Mission is a Christ-centered nonprofit serving our Valley neighbors through three core programs: Street Outreach: Meeting neighbors where they are with water, hygiene items, heat relief, and connections to housing and recovery programs. Residential Recovery: Offering short-term crisis care and long-term programs that address the root causes of addiction and homelessness through counseling, discipleship, workforce development, and life-skills training. Food Distribution: Providing groceries, hygiene items, and case management through the Hope for Hunger Food Bank, mobile pantries, and community markets to people and families in need.
