PURPOSE OF POSITION: This is a temporary unclassified non-exempt intern position performing engineering duties for the Generation Department of the Grand River Dam Authority as assigned by the Vice President, Generation Operations and the GREC Management//Drafting Professional/Hydro O&M Manager.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: 
Reports directly to the Technical Services Manager, GREC O&M Manager or Hydro O&M Manager. Works in conjunction with other operation staff for
technical resources.

SUPERVISED PERSONNEL: 
No direct supervisory duties. May assume specific temporary supervisory duties for certain project functions and/or training duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Perform a variety of office tasks as required: research and prepare reports; organize department records; and data entry as needed.
• Document relay settings for protective relays.
• Demonstrate skill in using software like ImageSite, AutoCAD etc.
• Demonstrate skill in reading electrical one line/single line diagram and identify change and modify and update drawings.
• Evaluate O&M manuals, data sheet and specification for different machine.
• Perform engineering design calculations.
• Assist in project management of various mechanical capital projects.
• Assist in preparation of engineering documents and drawings.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
• Registered in an accredited ABET university or a technical school.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS, LICENSES REQUIRED:
• Must have a valid driver's license.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Knowledge of computers and MS Office software applications (Excel experience preferred).
• Ability to communicate and/or follow directions in both verbal and written form.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to walk, climb stairs, and work from ladders and elevated platforms. Must not have a fear of heights, confined spaces, or working around high voltage equipment.

• Ability to lift, move, and carry weights of up to 50 lb. on an irregular basis.
• Must possess mental, visual, and auditory acuity for attention to visual and auditory detail. Manual dexterity is required for operation of test equipment, tools, and computers.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS & SAFETY CONCERNS:
• Work is usually performed in an office environment with some outdoor field work required.
• Work may be performed outdoors and/or indoors in a high noise/high temperature environment.

JOB LOCATION:
• Office area is currently provided at Chouteau, OK power plant with the potential to travel to other nearby facilities, as assigned.

This gas, coal, water and wind portfolio includes Oklahoma’s first hydroelectric facility; the state’s only pumped-storage project; the first M501J gas turbine deployed in the Western Hemisphere and other generation assets.
