Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of properties. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, responding to general maintenance requests, overseeing interior and exterior building systems, and preparing units for new residents. Success in this role requires effective task prioritization, strict adherence to safety standards, and clear communication with residents, guests, and team members. This position works in both indoor and outdoor environments as needed, with exposure to a range of temperatures.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist with client admissions, including completion of intake documentation
• Obtain, record, and maintain accurate client vital signs in accordance with unit policies
• Monitor client status through hourly unit rounds and promptly report observations to nursing staff
• Accurately document client information in a timely manner following established policies and procedures
• Communicate client observations, concerns, or changes in condition to the nurse on duty
• Maintain a professional, safe, and respectful triage and unit environment
• Ensure assigned workstations, checklists, and shift duties are completed as scheduled
• Follow all unit policies, procedures, and workplace standards
• Perform duties as outlined on the duty roster and as directed by nursing staff
• Participate in required Withdrawal Management staff training (minimum of 15 hours annually)
• Demonstrate physical capability to assist with client movement, including lifting or carrying individuals weighing approximately 25–100+ pounds
• Ability to initiate or assist with physical restraint of a client when required, in accordance with policy
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management in the best interest of AICDC and its clients

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements described below are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position.

• Physical Agility: Ability to initiate or participate in physical restraint of a client
• Lifting/Carrying: Ability to carry and move 20 – 70 pounds
• Stooping/Kneeling: ability to kneel, bend, crouch, and use of lower extremities and back muscles, frequently.
• Pushing/Pulling: Ability to move clients, beds, or chairs and open doors as necessary
• Climbing: Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, ramps, etc.

Position Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience or training in maintenance industry
• Valid drivers license and active insurance
• Basic mathematical and computer skills
• Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent
