Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, Texas 75231

Work hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 10:30a - 7:00p

Anatomic Pathology Department highlights:

·      Frozen Section Assistance

Here’s What You Need

·      High School Diploma or equivalent required

·      Associate Degree preferred  

·      Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science preferred

·      One-year experience in histopathology preferred

·      HT (ASCP) Histotechnician required within 6 months from hire

·      HTL (ASCP) Histotechnologist required within 6 months from hire

What You Will Do

·      Follows laboratory procedure for specimen collection, handling, and processing.

·      Surgical pathology dissection assistance

·      Cuts and stains, thin quality frozen sections within 20 minutes of receipt to diagnosis

·      Embedding     

·      Performs special stains

·      Evaluate stains

·      Gives proper notification when supplies need to be ordered
