Job Description

Coordinates IRB meetings and review activities: provides preliminary review of IRB submissions; prepares relevant materials and necessary correspondence, including agendas and reports. Updates and maintains IRB database.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinates meetings and review activities.
  • Prepares technical materials and necessary correspondence, including agendas and reports.
  • Maintains effective communications with IRB members; coordinates IRB review work-flow and assigns protocols to board members for review.
  • Reviews project submissions for completeness and compliance with federal and local regulations; communicates with investigators and coordinators for any additional information or materials; prepares and enters information into database for new submissions.
  • Updates and maintains records related to committee membership, maintains various tracking logs and files related to IRB activities.
  • Oversees the archiving of terminated IRB files and responds to general information queries from investigators and study coordinators regarding IRB procedures.
  • Ensure IRB files are organized and in compliance with local, state and federal requirements.
  • Monitors/tracks progress reports and prepares correspondence to ensure timely compliance; communicates with investigators and coordinators for additional information or materials.
  • Assists IRB managers with review of progress reports, prepares response to investigators and updates database.
  • Assists IRB management, as necessary.

Job Qualification

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience, required.
  • Undergraduate degree, preferred
  • Experience with human subject research or IRB, highly preferred
  • Fluency with using MS Office programs, highly preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, highly preferred
