Job Description

Pinnacle Solutions is looking for a Ground Flight Observer Tech I to work in Sierra Vista, AZ.  To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!

The Ground Flight Observer Tech 1 position at Libby Army Airfield involves acting independently to ensure the safety and security of airspace during ground taxi and local flight operations of the Gray Eagle UAS. The role requires maintaining visual situational awareness of airfield conditions and communicating effectively with the Unmanned Aircraft operator to prevent any potential breaches of security or safety during flight operations.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor access to airspace and report intrusion to Mission Coordinator. 
  • Ensure the airspace is clear of unannounced aircraft during ground taxi and local pattern flight operations of the Gray Eagle UAS. This includes, but is not limited to, avoidance of other traffic, clouds, obstructions and terrain.   
  • Ensure availability for all takeoffs and full-stop landings, as well as for all planned practice approaches, touch-and-go landings, and stop-and-go landings conducted in Libby Army Airfield Class D exclusion area. 
  • Provide visual situational awareness of airfield and flight pattern conditions and be able to communicate those conditions via direct communication with the Unmanned Aircraft operator.   
  •  Communicate airfield conditions to the Unmanned Aircraft Operator.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Successfully Pass FAA Class II Flight Physical.
  • Valid and Current Driver's License.
  • 39 Month Motor Vehicle Review.
  • Background Check.
  • Able to Safely Lift 50 Lbs.
  • Able to Stand for Extended Periods of Time.
  • Able to Work Rotating Shifts.
  • Able to work outside in varying Temperatures on Uneven Terrain.
